It's been a month since I last posted and there has been some changes. Some I didn't know were so drastic until just recently. So here we go....... When I left you after the New Year I weighed in at 139.4. Since then I have made constant progress and am thrilled. I hit my 5% and 10% body weight loss goals. And as of friday I weighted in at 134.4. To put this into perspective I haven't seen this weight since I was pregnant with Christian. Over 7 yrs ago the scale read those numbers. I am only 9 lbs away from my goal weight and am so excited to continuously watch the scale go down.
There was another huge change that I didn't even know till last night. Curtis and I had purchased a weight watchers scale back in the summer of 2011 sometime. It reads your BMI, body fat, body mass, and other fun things. When we bought the scale we both got on and got our numbers. I knew mine were bad but I didn't realize how bad. For my age your BMI should be 20-25. When I started I was 28.9, as of last night i am now
25.6. Almost to the healthy area, yeah for me!!!! Also my body fat was 50.9. (HOLY SHIT!!!! Did I really just read that right?) Last night it was 30. The normal healthy range for my age is 19-29, so again almost there. I am just blown away every time I sit back and look at the whole picture not just the weight loss. I never knew how bad i really was. I knew I wasn't happy with what I saw in the mirror or how my clothes fit. But I didn't know my insides were not happy too.
Today I am a happier and healthier me. It has taken a lot of work but i don't regret a second of this journey. I have lost 17.3lbs, 14.8 inches, and a crap load of fat! All this change happened because I made a choice to put me first. I said yes to playing soccer and yes to making me a priority. I am cooking healthier food every night, have more energy, and am a happier person all around. I still have my days when chocolate beats out veggies and french fries keep me sane. But after those moments, which are few and far between now a days, I get back to my plan and keep chug chug chugging along.
My goal now that I am getting closer to my ideal weight is to start building muscle. I know there is going to be a point when the weight loss slows down till I get the muscle in there to help burn it away. The issue I am having is carving out the time to get to the gym to work out. My days are so crazy with kids going to school at 2 different times, cooking dinner, helping with homework, cleaning house, and my full time referee job. I know if I try hard I can get it done but god help me I just cant figure it out right now. I am doing a challenge for the month of Feb. that I found on my new favorite web site, Pinterest. I am doing sit ups, push ups and planks every day. And everyday the number of each increases. At the end of Feb I will be doing 100sit ups, 25 push ups, and a 2 min plank. It doesn't take much time to do it and it makes me feel a little stronger every day.
So there you have it. That is the last month wrapped up in a pretty little bow. Looking forward there is a lot coming up in this house hold. April will bring my second half marathon (hopefully) in Salt Lake. In May/June we will start trying to expand our little family by 1 more. Curtis and I have an AMAZING vacation coming up in August to San Francisco. And before the end of the year we will hopefully be in a bigger house (FINALLY!!!). I am really really looking forward to all the new stages in my life. I am very blessed and try to remind myself of that on a daily basis. Here is to a healthier and happier US!!!
